    Maldives changes rules, puts honeymooners in a spot

    NEW DELHI: Change in international travel norms for Indians during the Covid surge here has meant honeymooners Manali and Varun Parekh — and several others like them — are spending half of their stay in Maldives planning how to get back home. They got married last November and had booked a Rs 2-lakh package for Maldives from April 25-30. While they were there, on April 27, the archipelago changed entry rules for Indian travellers that led to a drop in demand to travel and Indian carriers started cancelling or clubbing flights.
